ADHD and ADD in Children: Signs, Support, and Solutions
Every child is unique, and sometimes different words are needed to describe how they learn and behave. ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) refer to neurodevelopmental conditions where a child may have more trouble focusing, sitting still, or controlling impulses than their peers. About8–12% of school-age children worldwide are estimated to have ADHD symptoms. In the UAE, a study found that roughly 4 out of 100 children aged 5–16 show signs of ADHD. These traits are not the child’s fault, and with understanding and the right support, children with ADHD/ADD can learn to live and thrive in any environment.
